Sarah Gravelle has been teaching and performing music and theatre for over 20 years. Since moving to Southern Maryland in 2015, she has continued her work as a performer, music director and private vocal/piano teacher as owner and operator of Gravelle Music Studio. She is the choir director and director of the musical at Esperanza Middle School. She has directed and/or performed in several productions with The Newtowne Players and Port Tobacco Players, was a past Vocal Visiting Artist Coach for SMCPS’ Fine Arts program at Chopticon High School, and has directed and assisted with theatrical productions at Evergreen Elementary. Sarah has also performed for several events at The Nancy R. & Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center at St. Mary's College (Princess Concert, Women in Country Music), Anne Marie Gardens (Arts Fest, Fairy Fest, After-Hours event series) and the Port of Leonardtown Winery. Before moving to Maryland, Sarah was a vocal coach and music director at TRYPS (Theater Reaching Young People and Schools) children’s theater in Columbia, MO.

Some of her favorite stage roles have been Sandra in Big Fish, Violet in 9 to 5, Maria in The Sound of Music, Irene Molloy in Hello, Dolly!, The Narrator in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Amalia Balash in She Loves Me, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense, Amy in Company​, Woman 2 in Songs For A New World and Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast. Sarah was also seen in the new musical Starting With My Voice (music by Audra Sergel) which made its official debut at the Chicago Musical Theater Festival in June 2014; as well as playing the title role in the staged reading of the new musical Belle. Sarah directed ​Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Evergreen Elementary, as well as Seussified Christmas Carol and A Night on Broadway 2022 at The Newtowne Players. Her music directing credits include Avenue Q (Columbia Entertainment Company), Hello Dolly (Maplewood Barn Theater), Company (Capital City Players), as well as Beauty and the Beast, Christmas Carol, Willy Wonka Jr. and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for the TRYPS Children's Theater.

Sarah earned a master's degree in education from Grand Canyon University; as well as a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in education, with a music minor/emphasis in vocal performance and a K-12 music education endorsement. When not teaching or performing, she loves spending time with her husband and five children and volunteering in the community.

Her vocal coaching availability became much more limited after going back to the classroom in 2023, but audition and special event prep can still be booked based on availability. Sarah is available for piano or vocal bookings for weddings, receptions, and special events.
